Twisted Games is the second book in the Twisted Series by Ana Huang

RATINGS: 5/5

SYNOPSIS:

She can never be his...but he's taking her anyway.

Stoic, broody, and arrogant, elite bodyguard Rhys Larsen has two rules: 1) Protect his clients at all costs 2) Do not become emotionally involved. Ever.

He has never once been tempted to break those rules…until her.

Bridget von Ascheberg. A princess with a stubborn streak that matches his own and a hidden fire that reduces his rules to ash. She’s nothing he expected and everything he never knew he needed.

Day by day, inch by inch, she breaks down his defenses until he’s faced with a truth he can no longer deny: he swore an oath to protect her, but all he wants is to ruin her. Take her.

Because she’s his.

His princess.

His forbidden fruit.

His every depraved fantasy.

***

Regal, strong-willed, and bound by the chains of duty, Princess Bridget dreams of the freedom to live and love as she chooses.

But when her brother abdicates, she’s suddenly faced with the prospect of a loveless, politically expedient marriage and a throne she never wanted.

And as she navigates the intricacies—and treacheries—of her new role, she must also hide her desire for a man she can’t have.

Her bodyguard.

Her protector.

Her ultimate ruin.

Unexpected and forbidden, theirs is a love that could destroy a kingdom…and doom them both.

Twisted Games is a slow to medium burn contemporary royal bodyguard romance. It’s book two of the Twisted series but can be read as a standalone.

REVIEW:
This book topped Twisted Love for me, I really don't know why but i loved this book more and Ryhs and Bridget were just intreguing and entertaining.

The evoluation of their relationship takes years and yet I was invested from the get go. The initial stages where they can't stand each other and their banter was just *chefs kiss*.

We are always in for a nice bodyguard romance but Rhys.....oh Rhys......and Bridget the princess who is supposed to act poised at all times, they just took it to another level.

The spice in this book though....phewwwwww......it was soooo hot and damn it was perfect. Rhys and Bridget ....their relationship ....everything was so wonderfully writtern.

I was a bit pissed at Bridget's brother for choosing love over the kingdom and by doing so making Bridget to fill a space which she never wanted but come to think of it...isn't choosing love over a kingdom is what we all swoon over but here because Bridget has to face hardship we don't approve that....i mean in the end its all about perspective.

Alex makes a little cameo and i was just wooping over that scene. Overall loved this book a lot and had a wonderful time reading about Rhys and Bridget.

Thanks for reading!

Dear Ava - Ilsa Madden-Mills

Dear Ava is a book by Ilsa Madden-Mills

RATINGS:5/5

SYNOPSIS:

The rich and popular Sharks rule at prestigious, ivy-covered Camden Prep. Once upon a time, I wanted to be part of their world--until they destroyed me.

The last thing I expected was an anonymous love letter from one of them.

Please. I hate every one of those rich jerks for what they did to me. The question is, which Shark is my secret admirer?

Knox, the scarred quarterback.

Dane, his twin brother.

Or Chance, the ex who dumped me. . .

Dear Ava,

Your eyes are the color of the Caribbean Sea.

Wait. That's stupid.

What I really mean is, you look at me and I feel something REAL.

It's been ten months since you were here, but I can't forget you.

I've missed seeing you walk down the hall.

I've missed you cheering at my football games.

I've missed the smell of your hair.

And then everything fell apart the night of the kegger.

Don't hate me because I'm a Shark.

I just want to make you mine.

Still.

Mature Content. Recommended for 18+.

REVIEW:

Okayyyyyyy.... This book was just perfect, i loved every aspect and it just ticked each and every check box that i didn't even know i needed. I loved this book overall for the characters and the way the story progresses and the way it ended was just beautiful.

There are sensitive stuffs that take place in the book but there  is no direct description about the assault but the first chapter says the details about how Ava is right after that incident, which might not be some peoples cup of tea, so thats a warning.

I just loved Knox sooo much......he is just the right amount of everything. He is not overly obsessive or anything but he want her and his character just balances his attraction for Ava is a perfectly healthy way which is something i adored about him.

And Ava was the kind of main character we need, she is just being her trying to be strong after everything that happened and doing everything that she has to do to live on.I just love her and the combination of Ava and Knox is just perfect.

What i loved the most about this book was how close this was to reality, the drama that took place and how stuffs were handled were right on dot.

This book gave me a little bit of 13 reasons why vibe. This book just connected all the dots really well, also the side characters were really likable and supportive. I would very much recommend reading this book.

Thank you for reading!

RATINGS:★★★★/★★★★★

REVIEW:

So this book as the title suggests is twisted and i like it, it wasnt the life changing book kind but i enjoyed reading it and i didnt find any faults in either the plot points or the characters or anything. The book was perfect maybe i am giving it only 4 stars because i am writing this review after reading the second book Twisted Games which i loved a little more i guess.

So Ava is the sunshine who though had some trauma in the past sees the beauty in life and the people around her while Alex on the other hand is still fixed on his trauma and requires retrubution and views life the exact opposite of how Ava does.

Also Alex is Ava's brother's best friend so we know how things goes from here.

I loved the way both of them face the similar issue which is betrayal which makes both of them understand what the other is feeling. More than anything i love the time jumps because it feels more real that way ....the way their relationship progresses and all.

The one thing i normally feel a bit not satisfied about books would be while the main character is forgiven too soon but in this book i was totally contended with how things played out.

Overall i throughly enjoyed this book and feel like Alex and Ava are just perfect for each other.

Thanks for reading!!

Dear Love, I Hate You (Easton High #1)

Dear Love, I Hate You is the first book in the Easton High Series by Eliah Greenwood.

SYNOPSIS:

It all started with an anonymous letter.

He wasn’t supposed to find it—no one was. And he definitely wasn’t supposed to answer it.

We end up talking through letters and sticky notes in a book. One sticky note. Two sticky notes. Ten sticky notes. All baring our darkest, deepest secrets.

It’s all fun and games until I find out who my pen pal is...

Xavier Emery. King of my basketball-obsessed town, my childhood bully, and the guy I am in grave danger of falling in love with.

But the rules were clear: we can never know who we’re talking to, and the confessions can never, ever get out. Seriously. It would destroy lives.

Fine by me. Even if Mr. Popular does find out his confidant is little old me, it’s not like he’d ever love me back…

Right?

RATING: ★★★★/★★★★★

REVIEW:

This was a really great book, I enjoyed it a lot and the thing i loved the most about this book was the situations the characters were put in and how they handle them, i totally loved one fourth of this book but towards the end, the final few chapters i would say i liked it and not loved it because i still find it a bit hard to wrap whatever happened around my brain.

The characters have dark secrets and while conveying those secrets to someone who is a stranger is a great risk but both of them found a place with each other where there were no judjements no matter how dirty their secrets were. I loved how both of their relationship was built betweeen confessions and texts.....it felt wonderful witnessing the journey but ofcourse everything went downhill at a point and i'm still annoyed with Xavier for what he did but sure it is a happy ending.

I loved Xavier and Aveena as a couple, and their interactions behind letters and texts were entertaining also the sexual tension between them was just lit. I just love both of them a lott.

When it comes to the oher characters Dia who is Aveena's bestfriend .....I don't know...I didn't like the way she treated Aveena for a while and i don't like her that much though she seemed to realise that she was at wrong. Hate Aveena's mom though there was some kind of redemption to her character and her sister was alight, after learning how Aveena felt i liked the bond between Aveena and Ashley.

I love this book mainly beacuse some situations felt really relatable and the drama that took place was just right, there was no unnecessary drama at certain places which i really appreciate a lot.

I enjoyed this book, hope you enjoy it too, thanks for reading!!!

The War of Two Queens (#4 Blood and Ash)

The War of Two Queens by Jennifer L.Armentrout is the fourth book from Blood and Ash series

Rating: ★★★★/★★★★★

Synopsis:

From the desperation of golden crowns…

Casteel Da’Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could’ve prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.

And born of mortal flesh…

Nothing will stop Poppy from freeing her King and destroying everything the Blood Crown stands for. With the strength of the Primal of Life’s guards behind her, and the support of the wolven, Poppy must convince the Atlantian generals to make war her way—because there can be no retreat this time. Not if she has any hope of building a future where both kingdoms can reside in peace.

A great primal power rises…

Together, Poppy and Casteel must embrace traditions old and new to safeguard those they hold dear—to protect those who cannot defend themselves. But war is only the beginning. Ancient primal powers have already stirred, revealing the horror of what began eons ago. To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she fears the most.

As the Harbinger of Death and Destruction.

REVIEW:

So here are my thoughts on this book.... Did i like it? Yes!!! especially the last half of the book. The initial chapters were a bit slow and more focused on the preparation for the war and how they take control of certain cities in Solis and how Poppy is learning to be the Queen and take decisions. The thing which i liked and also did not was Poppy's compassion towards the mortals and giving them a chance not to be intervined between the war, I hated it because it seems Isbeth always used Poppy's compassion as a shield to her advantage though it annoyed me a bit but I like this aspect that these characters have consideration towards the casualites that might take place in war.

I also liked Casteel's point of view, his love for Poppy was just awe and how satisfied he seemed to be that he was the one to be captured and not Poppy just melts my heart. Hands down one of my favourite couples ever.

I also like Poppy's evolution with Kieran....considering from book 1 they have come a long way, Kieran's caring for Poppy and staying with her at night in his wolven form was sweet and personally I feel like it was love but not the kinda love that Casteel and Poppy and I totally approve of it.

The reunion between Casteel and Poppy was a little too streched out for my liking but im not complaining, the concept of heartmates being able to walk in each others dreams was amazing and the connection that both of them have is something to yearn for.

Malik staying with Isbeth and doing things because Millicent is his heartmate makes sence and i understand but it still hurts to know how much his actions have hurt others, but I do know if Casteel was in the same situation he would do exactly what Malik had done, I still am not able to forgive him whole heartedly. And Dammit Malik being the one who led the cravens in Lockswood all those years ago ...why..just why...oh god i really hope things get better where Malik is concerned.

And Millicent being Poppy's sister, I like her I know she has good intentions but I hope we see both Malik and Millicent with Poppy's gang in the next book.

The time my heart clenched while reading the book was ....when Delano was stabbed damn it!!!... if he was actually dead i would be really very pissed, I would have also like a bit more interactions between Poppy and Delano.

So Poppy is indeed a Primal......of both life and death, I don't remember the time she used to be a mortal anymore .....anyways I don't know how i should think about Ires and Isbeth coming together to make Poppy and all, I just can't wrap my head about that part where Ires was not forced. Okay we need to know more about Maleec and Ires also their point of the story.

The spice in this book was good and the joining.....I'm fine with that, I do wish it could have been a bit more detailed but I appreciate what we've got.

I also liked Reaver here, he is just enjoyable to have around especially his banter with Kieran I hope we find Jadis soon,

Overall I liked how the plot moved and was more than happy with the death of Isbeth, I do wanna know who this Callum is and now as Isbeth is dead how will the kingdoms be, how will the mortals view Poppy, also how are they going to kill Kolis. Im sure the next books would give us some answers, hope the wait isn't too long. Thanks for reading!!

A SHADOW IN THE EMBER (#1 A Flesh and Fire Series)

A Shadow in the Ember by Jennifer L. Armentrout is the first book in the A Flesh and Fire Series.

The Story focuses on Seraphena Mierel who was Chosen by birth to fullfill a deal made by her ancestor to the Primal of Death in an act of desperation to help his people. Sera in honour of the deal must become the Consort to the Primal of Death.

She had been groomed all her life to be whatever is required to make the Primal love her and then assassinate him but what happens when she gets to know the Primal of Death and finds out that he is not what she had expected him to be, will she continue wih her task?

Rating -★★★★/★★★★★

So everyone knows that this is a prequel to From Blood and Ash Series and you might have some questions regarding it so let me clarify some

1) Can I read A shadow in the ember without reading From Blood and Ash?

YES you can read ASITE without reading FBAA.

2)I've read FBAA, when should i start ASITE?

After the third book i.e The Cown of gilded bones

3)Should i read FBAA to understand ASITE?

No, not necessarily. The events that happen in ASITE has happened centuires ago from the events of FBAA, if you have read FBAA you might find some things that explains stuffs but this does not hinder you experience.

From hereon there would be Spoilers for ASITE so you've been warned...

Okay!!! did I like the book ?? Yes! but I would say it was a bit of a slow start for me, The first twenty chapters were a bit dragging and I do understand that we need to know about Sera's life and the people around her but those people didn't really peak my interest aside from a particular handsome god.

I did not like the way Sera was treated by her mother and don't even get me started on Tavius but surprisingly the King seemed fine...not good but fine. I actually have nothing more to say about her so called family , Ah yes Ezra was a good step-sister to her and that is all.

Now to the Primal of Death Nyktos, I love him (not as much as Casteel but close enough). We Don't really have the complete back story of how or what had happened when he was captured by Kolis but we do know that the incident has carved a scar on him. Nyktos's lack of interest/ belief on love actually makes sence since he has seen what Kolis had done in the name of love to Sotoria and his father's love for his mother was the reason why she was killed and so it is pretty obvious that he dosen't have a good opinion about love and when he was getting closer to Sera it was more than what he normally would offer then knowing that she had actually planned to kill him would have hurt a lot...aww poor Nyktos. I actually am pissed about the way he dosen't accept what she is feeling even after reading her emotions but yes I understand.

Sera is strong and all, but her feeling of lonliness and the want to be close to someone and not be hidden away is clear and understandable with how she was brought up. Sera not being worries about getting killed actually explains that she herself didn't think that she would live for long which pretty much explains her reckless and impulsive behaviour.

I loved the gods in the Shadowcourt Ector, Saion, Rhain, Rhahar, Aios, Bele, Theon, Lailah. You have heard of their names incase you've read FBAA but to know them and have conversations between them was lovely. Nektas and his baby girl Jadis are just too cute especially when he had her in his arms wrapped around a blanlet in human form. The Draken are really facinating to me....i really enjoy them more than the Wolven which is surprising. Can't wait to see more of Draken and oh yes Reaver ....Can't wait to have more of him.

The whole plot about Kolis who was actually the Primal of Death had somehow managed to shift his place with the orignial Primal of Life i.e Nyktos's father who is apparantly his twin as an act of revenge of some kind for Sotoria was complicated but intriguing as well. And the prophecy was damn the way it mentioned Poppy and Casteel, i can't.... i was really exited.

Sir Holland Being an Arae was unexpected but the last chapter was just wow, the informations and the possibility that Sera would die because her body cannot handle the culling and the only solution is for Nyktos to love her give her his blood and Sera thinking to herself that Nyktos is incapable of love......oh no dear the fear he has on his face when he heard that Sera has to die says otherwise.

I really love the chemistry between Nyktos and Sera, they understand each other aside from that one fact of Sera's plans to kill Nyktos but on an emotional level they are just perfect for each other, The spice in the book just ......phewww.....loved it and every time Nyktos calls Sera "liessa" just makes my heart flutter.

In conclusion the book good and i enyoyed it a lot, can't wait for the next book to see how Sera and Nyktos's relationship progresses.I do have a feeling that both the FBAA series and AFAF would meet at some point in the upcoming books. Anyways thank you for reading my rant about this book. C YA!!!

Twisted Games (#2 Twisted Series)

Twisted Games is the second book in the Twisted Series by Ana Huang RATINGS: 5/5 SYNOPSIS: She can never be his...but he's taking her...
